The Challenge

Malaysia’s mobile plan comparison landscape runs on stale aggregator data — plan prices change monthly, but existing sites carry undated, unsourced numbers nobody can trust. Building a comparison layer users can actually verify required treating freshness as the product itself, not an afterthought.

Our Solution

An Astro 6 + Cloudflare Workers build (assets-only worker + D1, the mykopi pattern) on a research-wave pipeline:

1. Research waves produce verified JSONL — every row carries verified_at + source_url
2. D1 canonical store with build-time merge into static data (src/data/*.json)
3. Terminal-inspired UI with verification badges ([V] verified, [S] sourced, [D] dated) on every plan
4. Market breadth panel — cheapest prepaid/postpaid/unlimited plans, always dated
5. Monthly re-verify cycle — the verification date is the product; staleness is the failure mode
